Frequency COMMS
If the situation necessitates a distress or urgency call, you do not want to be struggling to find an appropriate frequency when you will clearly have higher priorities. Make the call on the current frequency that is in use. If there is no response, then consideration can be given to trying another frequency. 121.5 is an international distress frequency (known as "guard") but you do not need to switch to this unless a response cannot be heard.
