You will need to know the names of the devices that measure the various concepts in Meteorology. These devices are usually suffixed "meter" (the name of something that measures something - and are are follows - thermo (temperature); baro (pressure), alti (altitude), hygro or psychro (humidity), anemo (wind), transmisso (visibility), ceilo (cloud base), pluvio (intensity of rainfall). A radiosonde indirectly measures upper wind through the use of GPSGPS —Global Positioning System (USA)/radar tracking and knowing its altitude through a pressure sensor.
