Macroburst Facts MET

Macrobursts are a larger version of microbursts. Like microbursts, they are typically associated with thunderstorms and are a rapidly descending column of cooler air, but last for over minutes and are over 4km in diameter (as this is a macroburst, the figures are higher than for microbursts.) These figures are widely accepted in the meteorological community.
