Tornado Facts MET

The first thing to mention is that there is a huge possibility for confusing questions about tornados with questions about tropical revolving storms. These two phenomena are entirely different.

Tornados are much smaller, form over land and have a much shorter lifespan than TRSTRS —Tropical Revolving Storm. On the other hand, the internal speed of tornados is much faster than a TRSTRS —Tropical Revolving Storm and is still largely unknown.

The exam facts to be remembered are a diameter of 150m, a speed over land of around 15mph, a lifespan of around 10 minutes and being associated with CBCB —Cumulonimbus clouds. These are average figures and can vary widely in real life.
