PSR Aerials RNAV

A basic primary radar such as you are studying uses just one aerial; it transmits briefly, then listens for the echoes from reflecting objects. While it is true to say there are systems that use different aerials for transmitting and receiving (and also are able to transmit continuously as a consequence) these are mainly of military application and beyond the scope of the ATPLATPL —Airline Transport Pilot Licence syllabus.
